My career journey and the choices I made along the way reflect my nature as an energetic, curious, visual, conversational, and dynamic person. These qualities are also why I started Janie Consulting. My interest in people, team dynamics, history, and storytelling are the catalysts for my success and work ethic.
My decades-long journey is unique in the industry:
I have worked on major brand expansions while living in China, the United States, and Europe, giving me an arsenal of business model experiences and choice architecture to leverage when assessing the right marketplace growth strategy for any brand or product.
I have been at the table on both the buy side and the sell side of product and distribution partnerships, giving me a deep understanding of how to bridge the needs of brands and retailers to create better partnerships and more sustainable growth trajectories.
I have worked within distinctly different corporate cultures, including top-down old-school retail, relationship-based matrix organizations, and compartmentalized portfolios with limited central control. This broad view into organizational culture makes me keenly aware that influence and stakeholder management can look very different from company to company.
The combination of my nature and experiences has carved out my natural niche: brand go-to-market development. My core expertise in merchandising principles, marketplace development, and cross-functional team leadership will add value to brands and retailers looking to accelerate their growth and synchronize their efforts in the eyes of the customer.
I am excited to speak and sit on panels to share ideas and thought starters on how brands can bring newness, energy, and authentic positioning to this dynamic and ever-changing industry.
